Highlights of Athens, Mykonos & Santorini

Overnight flight from the United States into Athens, Greece

Day 1: Athens

Arrival in Athens. Our assistant will be waiting you for the transfer from the airport to the 4-Star Superior Athens Titania Hotel (or similar). Take advantage of your assistant local tips and start a stroll through the center of Athens for a first taste of the city.

Day 2: Athens – Walking tour of Athens and Acropolis with Tour Leader

The Athens city tour will be a walking tour through the main highlights of the city. We start from Hadrian's Arch. We continue to the main square of the city named "Syntagma " square (Constitution), where the presidential guard is located. With its typical costumes, the so called "Evzonos" make the change of guard in front of the Greek parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Continue the panoramic tour visiting Neoclassical buildings of Athens, such as the College, the library and the Academy, and finally visit the Acropolis and Parthenon, this magnificent monument built in 447 BC during the golden age of Pericles dedicated to Goddess Athena. Appreciate the Propylaea, the Temple of Athens Nike, the Erechtheum, and all its magnificent constructions.

Day 3: Mykonos

Transfer from the hotel to the port for a ferry to the island of Mykonos. Arrival in Mykonos and transfer to your 4-Star Superior Harmony Boutique Hotel (or similar). The rest of the day is free to discover the cosmopolitan town of Mykonos or explore some of the beaches. In the evening enjoy a cocktail at the “Little Venice” with fantastic views of the sunset.

Day 4: Mykonos

Free day in the island. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this spectacular island, home of the "jet set." Stroll through the cobblestoned paths of Hora in the day for shopping and at night for the world-famous nightlife, which usually ends at sunrise.

Day 5: Mykonos

Free day in the island of Mykonos. Explore the island which has a variety of beaches and beach bars, each with different characteristics. In the afternoon, a walk through the narrow alleys of the center will unveil the charm and uniqueness of the island where you can see the famous windmills formerly used by the inhabitants, typical of the Cycladic architecture. In the evening enjoy a cocktail in one of the numerous bars scattered around the sidewalks of the center “hora” and enjoy the famous night out in the island.

Alternatively visit the island of Delos, one of the most important archaeological sites, that are part of history and Greek mythology. Delos was considered in Greek mythology as a holy sanctuary, which is the birthplace of the gods Apollo and Artemis.

Day 6: Santorini

Transfer from the hotel to the port for a ferry ride to island of Santorini. Arrival in Santorini and transfer to your 4-Star Superior El Greco Hotel (or similar). Enjoy the rest of the day free for first impression of the island.

Day 7: Santorini 

Free day in the island of Santorini. The island of Santorini is famous for its spectacular views of the Caldera, the typical whitewashed houses with stunning views of the Aegean Sea. Around 1600 BC the island was the site of the Minoan eruption, which left a large crater named Caldera and was possibly the cause of the extinction of the Minoan civilization of Crete with a giant tsunami caused by the eruption. Another theory says that this was the origin of the legend of Atlantis.

Day 8: Santorini 

Free day in Santorini. Santorini has unique volcanic sand beaches with black or red colors depending on which beach you visit. The afternoon don’t miss the famous sunset seen in the typical village of Oia (pronounced Ia), where the sun seems to sink into the Aegean blue sea.

Day 9: Return to the United States via Athens

Transfer from Hotel to Santorini airport, and have your flight to Athens and then connect to your onward flight. Domestic flight in Greece included.

Notes: Domestic flights have allowance of one (1) luggage of maximum 23Kg (50 pounds) per person. Hotel taxes are not included and must be paid in person.Tips are not included.

Day 9: Crete

Transfer from hotel to Santorini port for the ferry to the island of Crete – Heraklio. Upon arrival in Heraklio - Crete, transfer to your 4-Star Superior Silva Beach Hotel (or simliar). Enjoy the afternoon to walk around the ancient city of Heraklio which has a wide variety of restaurants and bars, where you can experience the typical Cretan cuisine which is the basis of Mediterranean cuisine. The evening is free to be able to taste the famous Cretan typical drink called "raki" and the characteristic sound of the Cretan music.

Day 10 & 11: Crete

Two free days to know the largest island in Greece, where the Minoan civilization existed and the Palace of Knossos which was the political and economic center of that time. The Venetian castle in Rethymnon is a place that will leave you speechless as well as a walk through the Samaria Gorge, which is a tourist attraction for nature lovers.

Day 12: Return to the United States via Athens

Departure transfer to Heraklio airport and flight to Athens to connect to your onward flight. Domestic flight in Greece included.

Day 12: Rhodes

Departure transfer to Heraklio airport and flight to Rhodes. Arrival in Rhodes island and transfer to your 4-Star Superior Hotel Mediterranean (or similar). The rest of the afternoon is free for a stroll through the old town which is around the medieval castle. There you will find all the shops and typical Greek tavernas and bars where you can have a drink or an authentic home cooked meal.

Day 13 & 14: Rhodes

Two free days on the largest island of the Dodecanese archipelago, also known as the island of the knights, for beeing inhabited by knights of St. John in the fourteenth century who built the Venetian castle and its walls which today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the old city center, the market and the charming streets all around the castle which is one of the best preserved in the Mediterranean region. Enjoy the beautifull beaches and tastes of this great island.

Day 15: Return to the United States via Athens

Transfer to Rhodes airport for your flight to Athens to take your onward flight. Domestic flight in Greece included.

Note: Domestic flight from Heraklio – Rhodes have allowance of 1 luggage of maximum 15Kg (33 pounds) per person. Hotel taxes are not included and must be paid in person. Tips are not included.
